Year Two Story Writing - Planning and Writing

In Year Two we begin to write stories by planning out our ideas.  Here are some of the things we think about when we plan a story:

• An interesting Opening Phrase
• Introducing and describing the main characters
• Describing the setting for the story
• Building up to a problem/adventure
• An exciting problem/adventure
• A reasonable solution
• How everybody feels at the end of the story
• We also think about punctuation, time words and adjectives
