Reception Writing Word Level

In Reception we learn to read and write letters and words using Jolly Phonics.  We learn S A T and P I N letters first.  These help us build up lots of words that we can use in our writing.  As well as learning the letter sounds and names we learn whole 'Tricky Words' too.  Tricky Words are words that can not be sounded out.
